After exchanging two insurers superintendents in less than a year over allegations of suspicious activity, New Mexico’s Insurance Department seems urgent need for training of some of ethics. The latest insurance appointed Superintendent Morris “Mo” Chavez, hopes to provide only the restoration of transparency, honesty and integrity of the Office.
A lawyer and former licensed by the regulatory authority, together with Chavez Insurance Journal’s Andrea Ortega-Wells, that his administrative experience will help make for the New Mexico Department of Insurance in a new direction - that we may dare.
Wells, Chavez spoke at a recent meeting of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. Among his priorities, he said, is to monitor the work and fraud with the department of ethics, newly created by the State Public Commission regulations.
